KRISTA GILBERT : Co-Founder
Krista Gilbert lives in a small lakeside town in the Pacific Northwest with her family. She likes to cook for a crowd. In fact, the bigger the crowd, the bigger the party. Her book, Reclaiming Home: A Family’s Guide For Life, Love, and Legacy, shares many of the practical ways she makes her family functional, meaningful, intentional, and fun. At the center of all this is Krista’s deep faith and her love for the people God has placed at her table. ALEXANDRA KUYKENDALL : Co-Founder
A city girl at heart, Alexandra Kuykendall lives in the shadows of downtown Denver with her husband and four daughters. She lives a regular kind of life if soccer practice in the snow and amazing grace can be considered regular. Her books include Loving My Actual Life, Loving My Actual Christmas, and The Artist’s Daughter. She is working at boldly stepping through the doors God opens. KATHERINE SCOTT JONES : Blog Editor
Katherine Scott Jones grew up in cities on every U.S. coast and overseas as her family moved with her father’s Navy career. Seattle became home when she married her husband twenty-seven years ago. After graduating from Whitworth University with a degree in communications, she established herself as a freelance writer before turning her hand to fiction. Her debut novel, Her Memory of Music, released in September 2017. In addition to editing the Open Door Sisterhood blog, she also reviews books that celebrate beauty amidst the brokenness at katherinescottjones.com. Katherine and her husband have two teenage children.
STACEY DRAKE : Administrative Assistant
Stacey Drake has a heart for family, friends, and hospitality. She loves cooking and inviting people into her home. Having traveled for many years as a military spouse, she is enjoying settling down and planting roots just outside Nashville with her husband, Nathan, and son, Charles. As a lifelong learner, she is also an avid reader and enjoys spending time in study and prayer.
YOHONNA SMITH : Social Media Director
Yohonna Smith lives in central Ohio, along with her husband and two daughters, where she spends her days in the details of family life, trying to find the balance between fun mom and responsible mom. Yohonna is continuously challenged to find enough time in the day, to be brave enough to take action on the hard things, and to love Jesus more. For over a decade, she has also been a systems analyst for a top Ohio university. Currently, in addition to being the Social Media Sister for the Open Door Sisterhood, Yohonna is working on a project to inspire women through the sharing of stories and encouraging them to start their own conversations.
ABBY MILLER & APRIL HUARD : Retreat Chefs
Abby Miller and April Huard are sisters who love to cook and serve people together. They both live in the Ann Arbor area where their families are helping to plant Refuge Church. Abby and her husband, Adam, have three girls. April and her husband, Scott, have four daughters and one son. The sisters are currently working on a blog together, taking their kids to various activities, and drinking lots of coffee.
