At The Open Door Sisterhood we know one thing for sure: we are better together.
God created us to reflect Him and to do His work in the world through various talents, personalities and life experiences. When we bring those together we more accurately reflect the world we live in and God who created us to be.
It is with this knowledge and belief we have wanted to expand our team to include a person who could oversee the blog space here on The Open Door Sisterhood’s website. Someone with a love for the written word and a shared value of highlighting women’s voice for God’s glory. We needed a person who carried both vision and attention to detail. We asked God for her. A year ago. And this fall we found her in Katherine Scott Jones.
Katherine is a writer, an editor, a story lover and a sister bound to us in God’s family. Seattle became her home when she married her husband twenty-seven years ago where she enjoys the rain…especially when it involves a cup of tea, a good book, and one small, gray cat. Katherine and her husband have two teenage children. After graduating from Whitworth University with a degree in communications, she established herself as a freelance writer before turning her hand to fiction. She is former president of the Northwest Christian Writers Association, and for three years taught memoir writing at Highline Community College.
Katherine’s love for *story* springs naturally from her love for Jesus because He loved stories—imaginative, ground-breaking, life-changing stories. He understood their transforming power—how stories bypass a rigid intellect to sneak through the backdoor of a softened heart. She believes He made her in His image to carry on His creative work. That’s why she loves to write, and why her life feels incomplete when *story* is not a part of it. She blogs about the broken and the beautiful at katherinescottjones.com.
Please help us in welcoming Katherine to our team.
So glad to hear that Katherine Scott Jones is now part of your team! She is one of my favorite writers/bloggers/book reviewers. I learn so much from her work. Welcome Katherine!
Thank you, Maggie! One of your authors and I were just talking about what a terrific cheerleader you are. Thankful to have you here and a part of the Sisterhood.
Excited to keep up with Katherine and the Sisterhood here. We are better together!
Indeed, and thank you, Paula! So glad you are a part of the Sisterhood.
